The Jacky Winter nest is expanding so rapidly we’re considering building an annexe. We’re very proud to announce that artists Melanie Matthews and Daymon Greulich have joined the ranks at Jacky Winter, and that Vaughan Flanagan is entering the wild world of the Bowery.
Melanie Matthews' work is something of a fusion of the lovingly-crafted illustration styles from the 50’s and 60’s, modern graphic design and her own love of cartoons, saturated colours and texture. Wielding pencil, ink, stylus and tablet, she strives to brighten people’s days through drawing, and dreams of a world where supermarket shelves are once more stocked with fabulously illustrated cereal boxes.
While Melanie’s illustration firmly settled in the realm of vintage stylings, Daymon Greulich’s work is saturated in a syrupy graphic pop-culture. Influenced by a past that involves an employer on most people’s wishlist – Disney Studios – Daymon specialises in gig posters, sneaker art and character design.
Our latest Bowery addition, Vaughan Flanagan, comes from a world of expressive digital realism. This supremely talented Kiwi has a taste for dynamic angles, drawing inspiration from films for compositions. With his heart and life fully embedded in illustration, Vaughan is poised with an entire arsenal of painting tools to bring any narrative to life.
