Here at Jacky Winter, our nest of talent is ever expanding. We’ve recently been so lucky as to come across the work of James Fosdike, Anthony Calvert and Garth Cochrane, who have all joined the ranks of our more traditional illustration appendage The Bowery, with James Fosdike, man of many pies, joining Jacky Winter as well.
Fosdike is the creator of indigenous-themed comic Deadly and a host of other titles under his Visualante alias. His warm-hued, 70s-inspired illustration is always richly emotive and expressive, lending itself to a wide range of illustration spanning editorial to conceptual.
Where Fosdike’s illustration is vivid and psychedelic, Calvert’s is much more meticulous and measured. He specialises in technical drawings, looking to car manuals and airline safety cards to influence his carefully researched work.
Cochrane comes from another angle altogether, building upon several years working in the video games industry and incorporating a strong love of cartoons into his illustration. He works hard to give his characters individual personalities and tell a story through his work.
